Pathology is one of the most vibrant and lively department of SLMCH. The department is primarily engaged in diagnostic work.

The department of pathology is equipped with state of the art facilities include –

• Automated tissue processor
• Microtomes
• Hematology automatic cell counters 3 and 5 parts differential hemoanalysers
• Binocular microscopes
• Centrifuge
• IHC’s for conformatory

The department offers comprehensive services in histopathology, cytology, clinical pathology, immunohistochemistry (IHC) and hematology department is headed by an enthusiastic pathologist and comprises of a team of both young and experienced faculties which are actively involved in the departmental development. It provides patient care services including 24 hours’ emergency lab services, research and role of faculty in other activities are but just the tip of iceberg.
