The practical laboratory for students is well equipped with instruments like electrophoretic apparatus, Chromatographic chambers, Semi automated analyzers, ELISA apparatus, pH meters, Colorimetric unit, Spectrophotometer, Centrifuge and Glucometer. The departmental library has numerous text books and e- journals in general biochemistry and molecular biology.

The Department has experienced staff members well trained in implementing CBME curriculum (Competency – Based Medical Education) for medical students as recommended by NMC. Clinical diagnostic lab attached to the department has state of the art facilities where critical investigations for hormones, tumor markers, cardiac enzymes and molecular analyses are being performed. We, at the biochemistry department of SLMCH strive to achieve the ultimate goal of enabling students to explore and understand life at the molecular level.
