The department has a spacious and well ventilated dissection hall where cadavers and prosected parts are available for demonstration to the students. The Department has cold storage facility to preserve the human cadaver.

The department has a well-equipped histology lab with good quality microscopes. Slides of various tissues and organs are available to cater to the needs of the students. Histology practical laboratory has good Infrastructure with research lab where tissue processing is done regularly.

The Department has a well displayed informative museum displaying wet specimens, models, charts and articulated skeletons. Audio-visual aids such as overhead projectors and slide projectors are used in the department to facilitate reinforcement of knowledge.

Departmental library have latest anatomy books and journals The Department has two demonstration rooms with audio-visual aids and internet facility. Cadaveric dissections & specimens, histology slides and embryology models together with integrated teaching provide the ideal environment to learn anatomy at SLMCH.

The department of Anatomy is carrying out academic teaching programme for MBBS Students as per revised NMC Curriculum 2019.In Areas of Research we wish to tap work in the fields of Histology, Histochemistry, Developmental Anatomy, Neuro Anatomy and Genetics.
